A Hindu temple called Shree Camp Hanumanji Mandir is in Ahmedabad's Cantonment neighbourhood. It is among the most well-liked pilgrimage sites in Ahmedabad. It is one of the largest Hanuman Temples in India—one of the most beautiful Hanuman temples among the places to visit in Ahmedabad.

People from all walks of life are welcome to worship at the temple. Every Tuesday and Saturday are viral since these are the most favourable days to worship the Lord. A large parade takes place every year on Hanuman Jayanti, and hundreds of people watch it. A temple must be in the Ahmedabad tour package.

History of Shree Camp Hanumanji Mandir

Pandit Gajanan Prasad founded the temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, more than a century ago. In the Hindu epic story Ramayana, penned by the Hindu philosopher Valmiki, Shree Hanuman, a military leader of the monkey army from Kishkinda, is said to have helped Lord Rama in his mission to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana.

A gold-plated statue of Lord Hanuman is in the temple's main sanctum Sanctorum. Lord Hanuman's weapon, the mace, is next to the figure. The name of Lord Rama is on the walls of the temple.

From far-off places, people travel here to seek Hanuman's blessings and find solutions to all of their problems. Following her election victory in 1980, Smt. The first female prime minister, Indira Gandhi, visited the Shri Camp Hanumanji Temple.

Stories about the temple

The Camp Hanumanji temple connects with many miracles, so the myth goes. When the British Executive once suggested moving the temple, the priest and devotees declined, citing their solid religious ties.

Despite the British authorities' orders to demolish the Hanumanji Temple, they managed to cover the wall with millions of black and yellow wasps, which only targeted the labourers throughout their week-long labour.

Following this incident, the British executive had to reconsider their original plan to demolish Camp Hanuman Mandir, viewing it as a miracle from Lord Hanumanji.
