Kevadia, whose entire legal title is Ekta Nagar, is a town in South Gujarat, India, with 6,800 people living there in 2011. The massive figure of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel called the formation of Unity, is what it is famous for. It is an emerging popular attraction among the places to visit in Ahmedabad.
It is on the northern shore of the Narmada River. A colony was built for workers while the massive Sardar Sarovar Dam was being built, which turned the small village into a town. A new village called Navagam was also built close to house workers and people who had to move.
When the Statue of Unity was built in the 2010s, it made the town one of the most popular tourist spots in the country. Before the dam, it was a slight draw for tourists. Over time, more and more attractions were added, and other tourist facilities were built nearby.
Many of us hadn't known about this tiny village in the tribal Narmada District for many years, so it didn't really impress travellers. The Statue of Unity came to light in 2018, though. You will be in awe of Kevadia's tranquility and beauty as the state government's vision to transform it into a stunning tourism destination has come to pass.
The best time to visit
During the summer, it's too hot to enjoy things properly. The best time to visit Kevadia is from October to February. The weather will be great for going on trips. A site must be in the Ahmedabad tour package.
