The lawn around the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial is spotless, and the white and red front of the memorial gives off an air of careful management. A figure of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stands on the grass outside the building to honour him. The statue of Sardar Patel sitting with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi is another captivating piece that will lead you down memory lane of India's past.

The three legendary figures seem to be having a serious conversation, and the statue faithfully portrays their likeness. 'The three barristers who fought for India' is one way people have characterised this monument. The museum is another interesting place to visit in Ahmedabad.

A life-size statue of Sardar Patel stands proudly on the spot, saluting in front of two maps of India. It is titled "The Architect of Modern India." The building looks even more impressive at night and during the day when it is perfectly lit up.

History of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Memorial

The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Museum is the new name for the former Moti Shah Mahal. During the reign of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the 16th century, construction began on the structure. Subsequently, it housed the senior officers of the British Army as a cantonment.

During the 18th century, the renowned Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore lived in the building from the age of seventeen. His now-famous short tale, The Hungry Stones, was born out of this experience.

From 1960 until 1978, following India's independence, this structure served as the Raj Bhavan, the official house of the Governor of Gujarat. A national memorial to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was set up in the structure in 1978.

This museum is home to India's first-ever 3D sound, light, and laser extravaganza, which is sure to be a delight for visitors. The show educates viewers about the struggle for Indian independence. It makes them appreciate the sacrifices made by those who fought for it.

The usage of laser projection and 3D building mapping technology is what really impresses the tourists. The presentation is quite remarkable, thanks to the sound effects, lighting, and voice narration. As part of your Ahmedabad tour package, you should make time to see this stunning museum.
