Submarine Museum

The Submarine Museum is on RK Beach. It is made up of an Indian Navy submarine built in Russia, famous as INS Kurusura. It was turned into a museum in 2001. One of the best places to visit in Vizag is the Submarine Museum. 

There is a great view of the Museum from the beach, which has clear blue water and yellow sand. A lot of people with an interest in living in subs go there to learn more. The Submarine Museum is worth including in the Vizag tour packages.

The Museum has many pictures and papers that tell the story of the warriors and their struggles. It tells us how difficult it is to survive without any food and underground water.

History of Submarine Museum

There is only one other submarine museum in the world after the Museum. It is the only one in Asia. It is an I-641 class submarine that was built in the Soviet Union and joined the Indian Navy on December 18, 1969. It came out of service on February 28, 2001, after 31 years of great service to the country. 

The submarine was taken from the water to Ramakrishna Beach. It is on a concrete base so that it can be used as a museum. It was here so that people could learn how submarines work during battle. And so that people could see what life is like inside a submarine, among other things.

The tourist department of Visakhapatnam takes care of the INS Kurusura Submarine every day. 5.5 Crores were spent on this job altogether. One of the main place’s tourists visit in the city is this. It was open to the public on August 14, 2002.
