Chandrabani is a well-known temple in Dehradun, which is the central city. It is dedicated to Goddess Chandrabani. The temple is in the Shivalik hills, surrounded by lush greenery. It is also famous as Gautama Kund in the area where the great teacher Gautama is thought to have lived.

The Chandrabani Temple is one of the most popular places to visit in Dehradun. It is famous for being influential in mythology, and hundreds of people go there every day. It is a shrine to the goddess Chandrabani and is also famous as Gautama Kund.

There are many trees around the temple, and it has a fascinating past. It might not be your typical place to visit as a tourist in a city, but you should go there at least once with your DEHRADUN TOUR PACKAGE. There is grass and the Shivalik ranges of mountains all around the temple.

It's a beautiful and peaceful place because of all of this. A river called Ganga runs next to the temple. Thousands of people come here to bathe in the river Ganga every year.

What is the history of Chandrabani Temple?

Hindu stories say that Maharishi Gautama lived here with his wife Ahalya and their daughter Anjani. People began to honour Sage Gautama after he meditated here for a few years. Some people also think that Ganga, the daughter of god, came to life on April 13, 2013, at this temple. In this case, a big show is still held here every year on this day.

The temple is also where Goddess Anjana lived. She is the mother of Lord Hanuman, and the story goes that she gave birth to him here. Because of this, the Chandrabani Temple is a holy place for many Hindus.

Is Chandrabani a Shakti peeth?

This temple is one of the Shakti Peethas and a holy place for Goddess Sati. The Chandrabani Temple is a place of worship and religion. It is 2277 metres above sea level on Chandrabani mountain, also known as Chandrakoot mountain.

The best time to visit

March to June is the best time to visit the Chandrabani temple in Dehradun. The weather is excellent, and there's a relaxed vibe all around. At this point, you can enjoy visiting other Dehradun tourist spots. Stay away from the mountain roads during the monsoons from July to September. There is a good chance of heavy rain and landslides.
