The Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara Ashram has beautiful hills, mountains, and valleys, and the sunset and sunrise surround it. It is in the beautiful hill town of Dehradun. It is one of the most famous places to visit in Dehradun, and devoted followers go there daily.

When you think about how beautiful this gurdwara is, from the paintings to the domes, this place celebrates the sculpture-richness of Indo-Islamic architecture. The Mughal-style park surrounding the main Darbar makes it look even more beautiful.

Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is the most well-known holy building in Dehradun. It's in the middle of the city. Guru Ram Rai Gurudwara is the oldest and most sacred place for the Sikh population in Dehradun.

History of the Ram Rai Gurudwara

Guru Ram Rai Bahadur Gurudwara is a holy place of worship and travel for the Udaseen sect of the Sikh community. It was built around the 17th century. It was against Sikh law for Guru Ram Rai to translate a word from the holy Adi Granth for Emperor Aurangzeb. But the real reason he mistranslated was to avoid offending the Mughal Darbar. It was because the 17th century was the height of the conflict between Muslims and Sikhs.

The gurudwara's Muslim and Mughal features came from the fact that the Mughal ruler and Guru Ram Rai were friendly with each other, say experts. In addition, the Mughal emperor "Aurangzeb" paid for and gave land for this place.

The Jhanda Mela is a huge event. It takes place every year at the Gurudwara between Holi and Ram Navami. The Jhanda (Flag), a 100-foot-long tree trunk wrapped in many layers of clothes, is being changed at this year's event.

The best time to visit

The air in Dehradun is pleasant all year long. So, it is one of the best places to visit in Uttarakhand for people worldwide. But if you want to escape North India's heat, March through June is the best time to visit Dehradun.

There is a soft energy around gurudwaras. During the DEHRADUN TOUR PACKAGE, the Baba Ram Rai Bahadur Gurudwara is worth a visit. At least once because it is clean, soft songs are in the background, and the language is always simple and tasty.
