Chakrata's Tiger Falls are a secret gem not far from Dehradun. Because they are in the middle of beautiful nature, these falls have become one of the most popular places for locals and tourists to relax. People go to these natural falls to escape the noise and chaos of towns.

A thick forest surrounds the fall, and the sound of the water rushing through the trees can be heard in the nearby hills. It is also India's tallest direct waterfall. The waterfall falls from a height of 50 metres and is 1395 metres above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Dehradun, offering various activities.

Trek at Tiger Hills

People who go hiking near the majestic falls have a fantastic time. It gives them a chance to see nature at its most beautiful. Walking through the trees and over the hills on the way to Tiger Falls is magical. You'll remember it for a long time.

Two trekking routes offer varying difficulty levels, one requiring a km trek and another 5 km of adventurous climbing. The Chakrata-Lakhamandal path leads to the waterfall, while the extended route takes you into dense forests.

Activities to indulge in at Tiger Falls

Make sure to add Tiger Falls to the Dehradun Tour package near Chakrata. There are a lot of things you can do near the magnificent falls.

•    Camping: Tiger Falls offers a unique camping experience under the starry sky. However, it's best to confirm with local authorities and ensure safety during the monsoon season. Enjoy the stunning view and lush green forest.

•    Picnic: Enjoy a picnic day at Tiger Falls, a serene location away from city pollution and commercialization. Enjoy the natural beauty of the falls, suitable for all ages, and pack your favorite food and drinks for a relaxing experience.

•    Waterfall rappelling: You can also go water rappelling at Tiger Falls. The falls are where you should be if you like fun. Also, if you love being in the water, you will surely love it. It's risky, so people with weak hearts shouldn't do it. Water rappelling is most fun in the summer, from April to June.

Why is it called Tiger Falls?

The big waterfall and the sound it makes are what give Tiger Falls its name. It takes an hour to get from Chakrata town. You can park in two places. The first has a steep hill that you'll have to climb for about a km, and the second one is only a 200-meter walk away.

Which month is best for Chakrata?

Tiger Falls is a memorable experience year-round, but the best time to visit depends on the purpose. However, the highest peak is during the monsoon season (July-October), while adventurous activities like trekking and water rappelling are safer during the summer (April-June).
