Saint Swami Laxman Siddh's last resting place is in the respected Laxman Siddh Temple, known for deep devotion. Situated on the Haridwar/Rishikesh Road, around 12 kilometres outside of Dehradun, this temple is one of the revered holy sites near Dehradun. What is the story of Laxman Siddh Temple?

As the story goes, "Ram and Lakshman"—the sons of King Dasaratha—killed Ravana, and Lord Laxmana performed an atonement ritual at this site to cleanse himself of the sin of Brahmacharya. The temple is thus named "Laxman Sidhapeeth Temple."

According to mythology, it is the supposed spot where the holy swami Laxman Sidh performed penance and then took samadhi. There is also a well 400 meters from Sidhpeeth. In ancient times, the water from this well would flow out looking like milk. Since the well was dry when Laxman Ji shot into it, he could get water from it.

The best time to visit 

Any day of the year is good for visiting the Laxman Sidh Temple in Dehradun. Visiting the Laxman Baba Mandir on a Sunday would be an excellent idea. As far as Dehradun temples go, this is among the greatest, and make sure to add it to the Dehradun tour package.

When visiting Dehradun, the best time to go is between September and April, when the weather is pleasant for sightseeing. It gets very chilly here in the winter. The temperature drops significantly throughout the winter because of the cold. It is more challenging to travel from here during the rainy season.
