While hunting in a forest, once a king name Bharadwaj targeted an arrow at the tiger. Unfortunately, the arrow hit the cow. Upset at this incident of killing the cow, resulting in ‘gohatya’, the king ran around aimlessly, crying aloud why such a sin committed by him till he encountered sage Bharadhwaja living in that forest indeed.
To pay for this guilt, sage Bharadwaj instructed a Shivalinga should be installed. He sould worship the Lingam every day of his life. It is also a believe that he had vision of Siddhilakshmi and Dashabhuja Ganapati. And miracle was, they appeared on the temples southern wall few years ago.
