St. Aloysius Chapel, located in the state of Karnataka, is one of the best places to visit in Mangalore. The location of this Chapel is on Lighthouse Hill, which is the heart of the city. It is famous for its Tourism, Christianity, Art and Painting.

People from all over the world come to witness the beautiful and mesmerising paintings which are all over the walls of the church. These Church walls are painted with Fresco and Oil Paintings. Most of the paintings show the life of St. Aloysius.

ST. Aloysius Church History

Jesuit Missionaries build The St. Aloysius Church of Mangalore. “Antonio Moscheni” painted the interior of the Church. That was an Italian Jesuit  in 1899. And a recognised board of the nation preserved the paintings. 

The construction of St. Aloysius Church was a part of The Mangalore Mission which was started in 1880. The chapel is dedicated to a wealthy and successful man, St. Aloysius Gonzaga.

The best time to visit St. Aloysius Church is in the winter season. Summers in Mangalore are very hot and humid and therefore it would not be pleasant for the visit.
