Chail is a beautiful hill-station located in the middle of the Shimla and Solan district. Without any doubt, it is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Shimla. The distance is 44kms from Shimla and 45 km from Solan. Therefore you can understand how beautifully it is located between the two districts in the midst of Virgin forest at an elevation of 2250metres above the sea level.

Chail is a mesmerizing hill station located in the district of Solan, Himachal Pradesh and the best time to visit the hill station is from the month of April to June though Chail can be visited the whole year. In summers, the weather is pleasant with a misty breeze blowing which is a great way to beat the heat of the daily mundane city life.

 In winters, the local people and the tourists experience chilly cold weather, covered with snow all over Chail. Monsoons are off a bit risky as there are the chances of a landslide. Nature-lovers will surely love it! There is nothing enjoyable like Shimla tourism.

Chail Palace

Chail Palace is also commonly popular as Maharaja’s palace ( in 1891). It offers you a royal setting that spread up to more than 75 acres of the land.

Chail Palace is run by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Limited (HPTDC). It was built by the King of Patiala, Maharaja Bhupendra Singh as a summer retreat residence during the reign of British in India.

The Chail Palace upholds the pride and glory as well as the charm of Chail. The palace looks traditional with vintage wave with the classic touch of the architecture. It is a remembrance of the royal family of the King of Patiala.

One interesting thing to notice if you are visiting Chail palace is that there is the famous Sidh Baba ka Mandir which is located just 1.5km from the Chail palace, about 8000 m above the sea-level. And surely it is the most romantic places to visit in Shimla.
