The Himachal state museum is located at the museum road, near the Doordarshan Kendra, Chaura Maidan at Shimla in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The museum was opened for the first time in 1974. It is one of the best places to visit in Shimla.

The museum has a library in which it is assumed to have more than 10,000 books, journals magazines. In the sculpture gallery, it has metal, wooden and stone sculptures from the past.
