Albert Hall Museum is an old prestigious museum which is located in the Ram Niwas Garden. It is one of the Jaipur tourist places which is extremely wonderful and enjoyable. The Albert Hall Museum gets its name from King Albert Edward VII of England.
It was King Albert who inaugurated this Museum, hence it is given his name. The building of the Albert Hall Museum was constructed in the year 1876.
Primarily this Museum building had constructed as a concert hall which later turned into a museum. From the days of its inauguration, the Albert Museum is very famous. The architecture of the building is Indo – European.
Its ornamentation is done purely by stone carvings. The walls of the corridors are decorated with different kinds of Persian painting and wonderful art forms. Albert Hall Museum must include in the JAIPUR TOUR PACKAGE.

Albert Hall Museum History
In the beginning, the Albert Hall Museum was built with the intention of a Concert Hall. The construction of the building started at the time when the Prince of Wales visited Jaipur. It happened in the year 1876.
The concert hall turned into the museum in 1880 when Maharaja Sawai Madho Singh II suggested that the concert hall must be used as an industrial Museum. Then this museum was used for displaying the paintings and art forms of local artists.
During 1881, the popularity of this amazing Museum reached its heights and it began attracting people. The tourists and visitors from all India began visiting this beautiful and astonishing Gallery. Handicrafts, Artworks, and other Masterpieces were very famous among visitors. They loved to buy these artefacts.
Albert Hall Museum Timings
The museum is open for the tourists from 9 in the morning and it remains open until 5 in the evening. On Holi, the museum remains closed as it is the local holiday of Jaipur. The last Tuesday of each month from October to March, the museum remains closed on an account of maintenance. Also, the last Monday of each month from April to September, the Museum remains closed for maintenance.
On great occasions and days of the year such as on World Museum Day, Rajasthan Day, World Heritage Day and World Tourism Day, the entry to the museum is free. Whereas, entry for students is free in the museum from 10 AM to 12 PM.
