Jaigarh Fort History

This Fort, also like other Forts and Places of Jaipur, had built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726. The Jaigarh Fort was purposely built to protect the Amer Fort of Jaipur. The Jaigarh Fort is located at a hill just behind the Amer Fort. The fort was the residence of the kings and his family. Along with the residency, Fort was also used for the storage of the weapons and cannons like ¨Jaivana¨.

The Jaigarh Fort was the main cannon foundry of the Mughal rulers. During the time of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the cannon foundry of this Fort was very famous as the world’s most efficient cannon foundry. If it is a plan to visit Jaipur, this place should not kiss anyway.

Jaigarh Fort Treasury

There is a belief that the Jaigarh Fort has a huge amount of treasure hidden beneath its ground. The mystery of this hidden treasure is still unsolved. As nobody has seen the treasure so it can be a myth as well. Some think that the treasure had used by Sawai Jai Singh for the building of Jaipur City while some think it had offered to Akbar. Along with many other beliefs, Some people even think that the treasure is captured by the government of India but there is no solid proof for this.
