Govind Devji Temple of Jaipur is very popular as one of the most significant temples of Lord Krishna after the Vrindavan temple. It is one of JAIPUR TOURIST PLACES which is worth visiting. History of Govind Devji Temple, Jaipur

According to the legends of History, the statue of this temple is famous as “Bajrakrit”. Because it made by ¨Bajranabh¨, who is popular as to be the Great Grandson of Lord Krishna. The locals believe that the statue of the Deity looks exactly like the original Lord Krishna, the same which lord Vishnu took as an incarnation on Earth.

The temple had built by Sawai Man Singh during the time of Emperor Akbar in 1590. The Govind Devji Temple of Jaipur celebrates the festival of Janmashtami with great enthusiasm as the temple is a tribute to Lord Krishna. This temple is a part of City Palace of Jaipur which was the seat of the Maharaja of Jaipur.

The European Chandeliers and the paintings of Indian Art can have found on the walls inside the Temple along with the Gold decked ceiling. The best time to visit Govind Devji Temple is during the festival of Janmashtami. That use to celebrate mostly in the month of August. Devotees visit the temple from early in the morning and can remain there till late at night. Some beautiful gardens surround the temple.
