The serene beauty of the Antharagange is a magnificent place amidst the mountain ranges and greenery. This temple is located at the Kolar district near Bangalore.

There are series of mountains found where the temple is in between creating a splendid view. This is one of the best places to visit near Bangalore. It is a sacred spot where the temples are sanctifying with the water flowing from the spring next to it.  This place is also called Kashi of the South.

The word Antharagange means ‘ganges from deep’ in Kannada language. There is an origination of spring sourced from the hills, which makes the place unique. The popular Antharagange temple will show you a road straight to the forest and hills.

Trekking, hiking, walking, and even night navigation explored by the tourists time to time. The sudden attack from the wild monkeys sometimes creates a lot of trouble. They grab the food and run away.

Antharagange temple

The spiritually active temple has the presiding deity Kashi Vishveshwara. The place has one main Shiva Linga, and the other four to five lingams next to the mandapa of the temple.

The ancient belief is the sacred water from Mother Ganga falls straightaway on the head of the Lord Shiva. Therefore, the temple gained a lot of popularity. Tourists and devotees come to explore this beauty of the temples.
 
The devotees drink, collect and take a bath under the auspicious waterfall. According to the mythology, the ancient clever Parasurama took the vow of killing the Kshatriyas. After Parasurama killed Kartaviryaarjuna and his son; Renuka took isolation on this hilltop.
 
The popular nearby temple, Kasi Vishweshwara Temple, receives water from the perennial spring near to Anthargange. The water continuously flows from the mouth of Basava, which is a stone bull.  During the summer and monsoon, the flow of water is high. 

Antharagange cave

The Heritage location Antharagange cave is a fantastic place for the trekkers mainly to explore. The formation admits that the inner stream here is most gorgeous view. The spiritualism and stony hills completes the aesthetic look of the place. There are several caves to the explored here.

The rocky Antharagange cave is covered with the dense forest. The exploration brings in a more thrilling adventure in this location. Few activities including rock climbing and rappelling is practiced by the trekkers, alongside the temple visit. Some caves are large and great for camping too.

There is no option of food in this place. Try to carry some food if you plan to visit the place.

Antharagange trekking

Located at an altitude of 1712 meters from the base sea level, this destination is the trekkers delight.  The green ambience, the mesmerizing rock climbing activities is best practiced here. You’ll get a plentiful of water gushing out of the stream carrying forward the beauty of nature.  One day trek to this hill is a perfect day out.

Antharagange sunrise trek is often observed. It starts from the middle of the night to catch the glimpse of the enchanting chirping of birds, water flows and sunrise. The bird watching, natural vegetation and fauna are largely observed.

Antharagange night trek is highlight is the Antharagange cave which is naturally formed prone to volcanic rocks. The cave is dark, rocky and completely exposable in the night vision. It is narrow and steep on the trails for the trekkers. If you are soft-hearted do not try it in night. The night beauty of the place is unforgettable. The insects, reptiles and bats are often found hindering the night trek.
