The serenity of the Nandi hill has an alluring feature which makes it grandeur: the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple Nandi. It is one of the famous places inside Bangalore, Karnataka.
 
In fact, the proximity of the distance from Bangalore to Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple is nearly 54 kilometers. Located at the base of the Nandi Hills, this temple have all the luxurious architecture and intense historical background which makes people fascinated about the place.

Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple Historical importance

The history of this temple is surprising. Many temples were built here. It was during the time of the Nandeeshwara complex, once ruled by the kings of the Nolumba dynasty. After 9th century, a lot of rebuilding and restructuring of the dynasty happened from time to time.

The temple of Bhoga Nandeeshwara built under the reign of the Cholas. Uma Maheswara Temple built under the rule of Hoysalas.  Studies state that there are architectural styles of Vijayanagara, found in the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple.  The complexity of design on this temple witnesses gathering of tourist.

The rulers of the Mysore even have ruled over the place, and the temple was under their control for quite a long time. There are multiple cultures observed on the architecture of the temple.

The temple restructured time to time during each ruling post colonial ear.  Even the British took over the control after the death of Tipu Sultan.

Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple architecture

The old charm and the artistic cravings of the Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple make it splendor.  The temple is the abode of three shrines of Lord Shiva, namely,

•         Arunachaleshwara Temple
•         Uma Maheshwara Temple 

These three heritage complexes considered being the three phrases of Shiva’s life. It relates to the childhood, youth, and life with Parvati. The temple Yoga Nandeeshwara temple has the phrases of renunciation. There is a large pond at the base of the temple, named, Shringi Theertha.

The myth says that the creation of the Nandi- the bull is the source of water from the south Pinakini river.

Temple timings

The timing is around 7:30 am to 7 pm.

Beside the temple lies the well structured mandapa supported by pillars. Often wedding at this mandapa takes places.  The kalyana mandapa has the breath-taking beauty, artistically curved out and intricately designed.

It has the god and goddess like Shiva, Surya, Brahma, Parvati, Vishnu, Saraswati, and Mahalakshmi in different corners of it. 

There are large corridors built around the sides of the temple. The tank is well decorated with lamps and flowers during any festival or an occasion.

It is believed that water from the Pinakini River fills the place. This place is not maintained by the Archeological Department of Karnataka.

Carrying forward a wonderful small traditional wedding in this mandapa witness the gods and goddess makes the belief among the masses stronger.
