The most popular pilgrim center Ghati Subramanya temple is located at a distance of 58 kilometers away from the junction of the city of Bangalore. One of the best places to visit near Bangalore, this place is devoted to worship lord Shiva. There are many temples nearby to this location, but this is the oldest among all.

In addition, Ghati Subramanya temple’s architecture is the major landmark for attracting devotees to come and explore every bit of it. The cattle fair happens here on every festival.

Ghati Subramanya temple History

This temple is over 600 years old, as per the old records. As per the construction of the temple happened, it was mainly attributed to the Sandur dynasty king Ghorpade. The popular belief is the deities appeared to the dream of the king and demanded a temple to be built with idols.

Thus, the kings took help of the residing commoners, discovered the self-manifested idol and started building the temple.

The highly designed pyramid structure of the temple is the most distinctive feature. Moreover, the architect is mainly in Dravidian style, sculpturing various deities of the Hindu Mythology.
 
Nevertheless, popular believed that the idols of the Lord Narasimhas and Karthikeya appeared out of the ground, followed by the making of the surrounding temple.

A wonderful anthill found right opposite to the temple where the devotees pour milk. It is a part of the superstitious belief. It places the idols inside the temple facing east, west direction. The idol of the Lord Narasimha seen through a mirror. The idols designed out of the single stone.

Festivals at Ghati Subramanya temple

The popular traditional temple is a major spot of the snake worship in the southern part of India. The most worshipped utsav Brahmarathotsava explored by the devotees, from various corners of the world.

This festival with special ritual to be followed by the devotees. It performs another notable festival during the Narasimha Jayanti. 

During December every year, the temple offers space for a grand fair to take place. The cattle rearers, the notable agriculturists, and the traders from the various states of South India attend it. People across the globe are found to explore the Ghati Subramanya temple during this time.
