Over a million people visit the Bhimtal Lake each year, one of the most visited lakes in the nation. The destination is around a 47-acre lake. It has a huge dam and an aquarium on an island in the middle of the lake. Bhimtal is a popular tourist places to visit in Nainital. It is one of the biggest lakes in the Kumaon region. Bhimtal Lake is famous for having a lot of lakes.

In the Nainital area of Uttarakhand, at a height of nearly 4500 feet, is where you'll find the Bhimtal Lake. It has a 'C' form and has a surface area of 47 hectares. Infused animalcule causes the normally clear lake water to turn brown for a few months out of the year. Locals think the brown tint only disappears, and the water becomes clear again after the lake claims a victim.

Because the region is so clean and well-maintained, everyone who visits the Bhimtal Lake will enjoy themselves. During dawn or dusk, one can go boating or take a lengthy stroll along the banks and feed the ducks. The location near the lake is very peaceful. People come here to spend time and relax themselves from the busy day.

History

Bhima, one of the Pandavas from the Mahabharata, is the name of the lake and the town. He is rumored to have been here. During the British Raj, the dam was constructed in 1883 following the Anglo-Nepal War. On the dam's banks here, Raja Baj Bahadur Chand of the Kumaon Kingdom made a temple in the 17th century.
