One of the most well-known places to visit in Nainital, particularly for trekkers, is Naina Peak. Nearly 9.4 kilometers separate the top from the city, which is reachable by a motorable road. The stretch is around 6 km, providing excellent exposure to the Kumaon flora and animals.

The Nainital tour package must include this attraction. A thick forest of cypress, oak, and pine trees sprinkled with pink and crimson rhododendrons covers the entire walk. You get a beautiful perspective of Nainital's magnificence from the trek on one side, which runs beside Jim Corbett National Park.

The Naina Peak Trek is a hiker's Paradise since it offers a variety of uphill, steep, and scenic trails. As you climb, the forest gets more dense. Tourists can finish the 6 km hill in one to two hours. The top provides clean air and beauty that seems to be from another planet. The trip is gratifying, with the Himalayan mountains on one side, Nainital city and lake on the other, and picture-perfect flora all around.

Naina peak trek

A journey to Nainital is complete with hiking the 6 kilometers from Mallital to the top of Naina Peak. The spectacular view of the snow-covered mountains and the lovely city of Nainital makes the climb to the top worthwhile. One of the most well-known hikes that visitors to Nainital complete is this one. It's a simple to moderate walk.

The steep trail through deodar, cypress, pine, and rhododendron forests takes an hour to reach the peak. A lodge offers tea and forest ranger stories. Returning before sunset is recommended to avoid mishaps. The trek down takes about half the time to reach the summit, taking at most 30 minutes.

The summit offers an elevated view of Naini Lake, Nanda Devi Peak, and Tibet border mountains. Horses are available for rent for tourists from Snow View Point or Mallital. Trekkers should wear sturdy shoes, carry small food, and drink water. Daytime is best for capturing the best views.

Best time

Since Nainital is a hill town, it is best to travel there in the summer. The tourist-friendly months of March through June offer nice weather ideal for hiking and local sightseeing. Early in the morning is the best time to begin the Naina Peak hike, and you must return before it becomes dark by returning after the sun has set.
