Horsley Hills

Horsley Hills is a fun place to visit. It is 1265 metres above sea level. It was famous as Yenugu Mallamma Konda, which means "green hill." There was a story about a little girl named Mallamma who was cared for by elephants. In the hills, she used to help people from the tribes. After she left out of the blue, people thought she was a goddess and built a temple to honour her. 

Ultimately, the spot is named for W.D. Horsley, the Collector of the Cuddapah district. He came here and was amazed by the beautiful hills, so he decided to spend the summer there. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh now lives in this house during the summer, which is why it is famous as the Governor's home.
