There is a famous stream called Kapila Theertham inside the Kapileswara Swamy Temple in Tirupati. It is at the base of the Sheshadri Hills. Mountain streams drop over 100 feet of water into a big pond on the temple grounds. This is a one-of-a-kind waterfall. There are many tourists who come to Tirupati to see this site, and many people also come to pray there. One of the most beautiful places to visit in Tirupati is the Kapila Theertham.

In the area around Tirupati, the only Shiva temple is the Kapila Theertham temple. It is also thought to be one of the 108 holy springs on the Tirumala hills. This Siva lingam is made of brass. People who come to the temple are greeted by a huge stone statue of Nandhi, a sitting bull.

History

Legend has it that Saint Kapila Maharshi lived here and worshipped and meditated in the cave in front of the idol of Lord Shiva. The place is named Kapila Theertham after the saint. It is said that Lord Shiva gave Sage Kapila a picture of himself and his wife. Between the 13th and 16th centuries, this temple got a lot of help from the Kings of Vijayanagara, especially Krishna Devaraya.

Architecture

There are a lot of smaller shrines inside the main building. There are not many temples for other gods like Sri Krishna, Kamakshi, Vinayaka, or Agastheeswarar. People think of both the temple and the waterfall as very holy. People think that taking a holy dip here will wash away all their sins. The waterfall here is beautiful, so this is a great place to visit during the monsoons. In late winter and summer, the falls would be empty.

Best time to visit

Brahmotsavam, Annabhishekam, Maha Shivarathri, and Vinayaka Chaturthi are some of the most well-known events held at the temple. The most important event at the temple is Kapileswara Swamy Brahmotsavam, which takes place in February. The full moon day in Kartik Month is also a lucky day. The best time for the Tirupati tour package would be in february.
