History of Kasi Visweswara Temple
People say a small hole was behind the Shiva Linga (Kasi Vishweshwara Swamy) Icon. No one knows where the water in the pit and the water going through the canals came from. There are small shrines built and dedicated to Master Ganesha and Ruler Kalabhairava. The refuge also had Navagrahas and Naaga Kanyas, which were made to hurt snakes and other animals.
The ninth or eleventh-day service after one's descent still happens here, close to the shrine. The Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam building Shram is right next to the temple. In 1932, the Adhisankara Acharya came to this refuge and built this ashram. The Samsthanadhipathis also worked on creating this Kasi Vishweshwara Swamy Sanctuary.
In 1932, the Maha Periyava visited Chaturmasya in Bugga town. It led to the redesign of the Sri Annapurna Kasi Visweswara Swamy Sanctuary. At the Sanctuary near the Kushasthali River, Kumbhabhishekam was done. From October 21 to October 23, 2013, the Ashtabandhana Maha Kumbhabhishekam took place.
